1.) January 24th was Dean Winchester's birthday! How do you think Sam and Dean celebrated (or didn't) Dean's last (unless Sam saves him) birthday? Whoops, I've been a little preoccupied. I'm assuming Sam and Dean did...whatever it is brothers do during the day and then Dean went out and made Sam sleep in the car that night for terribly obvious reasons. (Alternate Wincest answer: Fucked all day).
2.) Why do you think John told Dean about the world of the supernatural when Dean was just a kid, but didn't bother to tell Sam? Maybe he already knew about Sam being a "special child" or at least associated. Or maybe Dean was asking where Daddy was going and John just told him. I don't know.
3.) In "Bloody Mary", Sam's eyes bled because he kept his dreams about Jessica dying to himself. Dean's eyes bleed, too! Do you think the series has already revealed what Dean was guilty for? Or do you think we've yet to find out why Dean's eyes bled? I think that's kind of a mute point, though that is a great question. I'm sure Dean has a million regrets. My theory is pick one and that's why.
4.) We already know Sam is very heavily involved with the mytharc (Yellow-Eyed Demon, Sam's powers/non-powers, "Boy King", etc.) of the show, but do you think Dean's Deadly Deal will finally get him directly involved in the mytharc? Or do you think Dean's Deadly Deal has nothing to do with the mytharc? Or something else? I think they're connected. I'm just hoping I'm right.
5.) In the season 2 finale, Sam was officially dead for a short while. We know from "In My Time of Dying" that the dead can hang around for a short while before completely passing on. Do you think Sam went through a similar experience while he was dead? If so, what kinds of experiences do you imagine he had? Or do you think he just automatically passed on without lingering like Dean in IMTOD? I'm sure he hung around, but wasn't completely aware of it. Rather, maybe he didn't even know he was dead, so...he wasn't doing anything nefarious. Or maybe you have to sit and stew for a bit in order to get ghost status. I don't know. |

1.) What do you think about the Supernatural magazine? If you haven't read an issue yet, what do you think about the magazines from what you've read/heard about them? I...have not read any of the magazines yet, but I think it's pretty cool that we have our own magazine. I know there's a Smallville one and Star Trek and stuff like that, and it's filled with trinkets of goodness. From what I've heard, the magazine is quite good.
2.) Do you feel the Supernatural: Origins comics are helping you to better understand the Supernatural verse/the history of our characters? Or do you think we could do just as well without the comics? Again, I...haven't read them (mostly because I don't even know where the hell anyone buys comics anymore; do comic book stores even exist still?) and I feel that this will help set the canon for the show, so fans and ficwriters alike can better understand HOW John came to be how he is, and use what we've seen in the show to recognize and identify the obvious character growth.
3.) What was your favorite aspect of the world Dean created in "What Is and What Should Never Be"? Aside from Dean mowing the grass? Mary being around. I understand that Jeffrey Dean Morgan wasn't available for that show, but I like that he and Mary were still married, and he died of natural causes, and just...the comfort of having family. That, or knowing that Sam and Dean would never get along unless they needed each other. For some reason, that makes me happy inside. I don't know why.
4.) In "Devil's Trap" (season 1 finale), Dean said, "I swear to God I will march into hell, myself, and I will slaughter each and every one of you evil sons of bitches." Do you think when Dean's Deadly Demon Deal comes to a conclusion anyone will be doing any marching into hell? Or do you think Sam will save him before the very last second? Or something else? For my own personal insanity, I'd love for Sam to get down to the last second and come at whomever controls the contract and go "BITCH PLEASE," just like Chris Crocker, and save Dean. That, or Sam will walk into Hell and be all HAHAH SUCKAS and just take Dean back.
5.) Ruby is sort of like the Meg of season 3-- she even has a thing for Sam! Do you prefer Ruby or Meg? Please explain your answer. Ruby. :[ Meg, while fun and deliciously evil, really was kind of a bitch. Ruby, at least, knows she's a demon and knows she's doing shit to get her ass kicked, but she's doing it anyway. |

[Jan. 11th, 2008|12:19 pm] |
1.) How do you feel about the fact that Supernatural reruns are going to be replaced by Reaper after the next four episodes air? Not very happy. And that's all I'm going to say before I pop a blood vessel.
2.) Have you read either/both of the Supernatural companion novels? If so, how would you like future Supernatural novels to compare or contrast to the two existing novels? I've only read the first so far, though I have both, and I really like them.
3.) How has the WGA strike/hiatus affected you? Has it helped you to explore other parts of the Supernatural fandom? Or do you feel yourself drifting away? I feel myself getting angry with a lot of situations, especially network decisions. And during hiatuses, I've found that the fangirls get....well. A little intense, to put it nicely. So I'm staying in my own little world and waiting for bits of news as it comes.
4.) If Dean dies, what do you think Sam will do? Will he continue to hunt? Live an 'apple pie' life? Jump off a cliff? Or something else? I think Sam will continue to hunt. Keep the family business. But I think he'd settle down with a female hunter and have kids and raise them to be hunters, but try to be a better dad than John. I think he'd try to merge both the hunting life and the "apple pie" life.
5.) Do you think the supernatural creatures that the boys fight off every week are too two-dimensional? Should the writers give them more substance sort of like they did with Madison from "Heart" so that it's harder for the boys to just blast them away? I think that the more the boys get into things, especially with all the demons, the harder it is for them to..not just kill them, but to get up in the morning, the harder it is to see things as black or white, the harder it is to keep their sanity. |

| | Gilmore Girls on TV! | ] |
1.) Of the gag reels from season 1 and season 2 (if you still haven't seen them, you can find them on youtube), which scene was the most memorable to you? Why? Probably the one where Jared rips his pants. Or the one from s1 where they're trying to get into the Impala and shut the doors together and they just canNOT do it. Both seem so...natural. Like stuff like that happens daily on set. I like knowing they're real people, who do real stuff...like splitting pants and/or shutting doors poorly.
2.) Of all the other TV shows and/or movies Jared and Jensen have done, which is your favorite? Why? Come ON. it's me. GILMORE GIRLS. Which I am watching right now. Gilmore Girls is actually where I first saw Jared, and I fell in love there, and it GREW. ASLFKBAOFUBAF Not to mention, Gilmore Girls is like my crack.
3.) How do you feel about fans writing fan fiction (of any rating) that feature Jared and Jensen? ...Together? Well, I can't say much. I roleplay Jared (I wrote up this big thing about the differences and similarities between rp and fic writing a while ago, but I can't remember if I posted it; the long and short of it was that they're roughly the same--one is in real-time, the other is a process over a few days) and honestly, I can't say anything contrary to people writing fic about real people. I do get a bit upset when people portray them inaccurately, or come up with just weird ideas. I can assure you that mpreg, wingfic, and them getting married is a bit out of my league.
4.) What are your feelings about the music on Supernatural? Has it opened your eyes to an entirely new kind of music? Do you suddenly love classic rock? Or is it the classical episodic compositions (by Christopher Lennertz and the like) that have affected you? Or has the music not affected you at all? I've always been into classic rock, thanks to growing up on it, and I've always enjoyed classical music (though I'm not sure Lennertz's music can be considered classical..?), so I think I've learned of new bands and stuff, which I really dig. I think music (or lack thereof in certain cases) makes a big difference to film.
5.) If Supernatural were ever to become popular with the mainstream media (sort of like Grey's Anatomy or CSI is today), how do you think our show would affect the media and potential new viewers? What would you hope potential new viewers consider about Supernatural before and after watching it? I think the media would get back into that horror craze it went through a few years ago, when every other movie that came out was something horror or a remake or something scary or supernatural. And that would be fucking rad. And I would hope new viewers consider the background and all the intricacies involved, like LOST, you know? I mean, obviously Supernatural isn't as damn confusing, but...there's histories and previouslies and all that to consider when watching. |

1. We've come to love Sam and Dean because we know their motivations and histories and they're usually reason enough to explain how they react to different situations. Do you think you could come to feel the same way about these characters if they were strangers you met in real life? Or would their personalities/attitudes put you off right away? I'm pretty sure I'd be attracted to Sam if we went to college together, but I'm 99.99999999% sure I'd think Dean was a chump. He's not really my type irl.
2. There are incidents where the boys save lives, but end up not taking credit for what they've done due to the supernatural aspects involved in these cases. For which incidents do you think they most deserve credit and why? I can't remember any right now. :[ But I;m sure it would be something heartwarming.
3. Dean wanted to make a big deal about celebrating Christmas this year. Do you think he'll want to ring in the New Year with a bang? Or will he simply let it pass without insisting on any sort of celebration? I can't see why he'd want to usher in the year of his death, but hey. You never know.
4. As much as the commentary for episodes like Phantom Traveller was interesting to watch, the episode is less eventful than some of the more intense episodes later on. If Jared and Jensen were to do commentary for another episode - any episode that's aired so far - which one would you want it to be, and why? Hell House or anything from season three so far.
5. Do you think Sam's rebellious attitude toward the family business, as well as his dysfunctional relationship with his father, comes from the fact that John never told him the truth about hunting and whatnot (he had to learn the truth from Dean)? Or do you have another explanation for how Sam has reacted to the aforementioned scenarios? I think John's secrecy and Dean's imbalance between protecting Sam and obeying his father both aided Sam's general negative attitude. |

1.) In last week's Christmas episode, what do you think made Sam change his mind and have a last-minute Christmas with Dean? The holidays are all about family time, y'know? Regardless of how he feels about Christmas, it's Dean.
2.) In every TV show, there are always important decisions that are made that end up determining (or largely influencing) the characters in some way. If you could explore one major moment where an alternative decision was made instead, which moment would you choose, and why? Why Sam didn't shoot the demon at the end of s1, after the car accident. And why? He could've ended it then and there, but he didn't. Even when he was the only conscious one, he didn't shoot the demon. Why the hell NOT?
3.) Assuming Dean survives to experience Christmas next year, do you think Sam and Dean will celebrate (with a tree, decorations, presents, etc.) like they did in last week's episode? Maybe! I would, I dunno, they had a good time.
4.) Sam and Dean have several qualities we all admire, but they both have their fair share of flaws. Which of Sam's flaws do you think defines the man he is today? How about Dean? I think Sam's sensitivity and unconditional love for the people he most cares about is his biggest flaw, and Dean's is his hard wall that keeps people out even though he wants to keep them in.
5.) What do you think is the biggest misconception non-Supernatural fans have about the series and/or fandom? It's exactly like Buffy. It's not. I've seen approximately .5 Buffy episodes in my life, and from what I hear, it's similar, but. Not the same. Sorry. |

1.) Earlier in season 3, we heard Sam referred to as the "Boy King". How much do you think Sam's supposed Boy King status will have to do with saving Dean's soul? A whooooooole lot. Like, mostly all of it.
2.) When Dean feels like he's in some actual trouble (like worrying about his soul going to hell and all), he hides his emotions from Sam. All we know so far is Dean's curious about "what [it's] like down there." How do you think Dean's really feeling? Is he really as care-free as he acts in front of Sam? Is he viewing his journey down to hell as the next great adventure? Is he more scared than he's ever been? Or something else completely? The carefree business is an act. And I think he's terrified to head on down to Hell. Wouldn't you be?
3.) We already know the Supernatural writers aren't afraid to use a supernatural creature more than once as the focus of an episode. What do you think about bringing back one (or more) of the minor characters from a past episode/season (i.e. someone Sam and Dean have helped while solving a case)? I think that'd be cool. See how they've changed in the time since we've known them, see what new problems they've encountered.
4.) In "Fresh Blood", Sam says that since he was four years old, he's been watching Dean. It seems like something significant happened when Sam was four, so do you think Sam's been watching Dean ever since something hunting-related or ever since something brother/family-related or something else completely? Maybe family-related, or hunting-related, I could buy that. But at the same time, it's natural for a child to watch their older brother/parents closely. It's how we learn how to act; either we mimic or we do the opposite, depending on whether we like what we see. I'll stop being all teacherly one day.
5.) Just for fun: We know Dean likes to think of himself as Batman (the Impala makes one hell of a Batmobile!). What kind of superhero do you think Sam sees himself as? Superman, maybe. Or maybe Green Lantern. Y'know, the whole...one in a long line of many saving the universe from utter doom. |

| SPN Friday Five, Week 54 |
[Nov. 30th, 2007|11:55 am] |
1. When asked about angels (or 'good' supernatural entities), Kripke said he and his writers believe God works "through a very human, sweaty, outgunned and overwhelmed group of hunters. For us, these are the angels ... the forces of good work through humans who are flawed and imperfect and trying to make the right decisions." What do you think about that? Is it just an excuse for not having enough money in the budget to add CGI angels into the show? It is deep and insightful? Or do you think something else completely? You know what? I think that Eric might have a point. If there's an evil, there must be a good. But what if the good is too busy running, you know, a universe, so said good hand-selects people (and I don't mean "Don't play with my Jesus" either), though they don't really know it unless they get smaaaaaaaht. Somehow, in this universe, I think Eric & Co. are onto something.
2. Although the Yellow-Eyed Demon is dead, how much do you think his past actions will affect events that take place in season 3? His past actions are the entire goddamn BASIS for the third season, what are you talking about.
3. Why do you think Sam has not revealed what he found out about Mary's past (she knew the Yellow-Eyed Demon) to Dean? Probably because he has no fucking idea what the hell that was all about. And probably because he can't figure out why his mama would even remotely WANT to know that yellow bastard.
4. Inspired by the upcoming winter holiday season: What type of holiday or yearly event, if any, would you like to see featured as a sidestory (to the main plot) in a future episode of Supernatural? Christmas on the road. Or maybe what Christmases were like when Dean had both parents and no Sammyboy. (I wrote this miserable little fic a while back about Sam's 3rd or 4th birthday, and they were on the road and Dean buys him a Transformer. :'] I want that.)
5. Last we saw Agent Henricksen, he was very determined to capture Sam and Dean. Are you interested to see the character/story arc return, or would you prefer all episodes to focus on demons, Dean's Deadly Deal, Sam's Boy King status, etc.? I'd like a resolution to that before the story ends. Either Henricksen NEEDS them to kill some supernatural baddie, or they get arrested and Ruby comes to kill Henricksen, or something. Seriously. |
