OF COURSE my answer is Lorelai Gilmore. In later years, when I first began watching Gilmore Girls (I never said I was early to the party), Lorelai's relationship with Rory reminded me of how I am (now) with my mom. Lorelai is witty, sharp, honest, and funny. She's protective and only takes the claws out when they're called for. She wants the best for her kid, even if that means fighting. I had to move to New York for five years to get over this crap with my mom.
Lorelai is not only an amazing mom, but she's a role model, too. She makes mistakes and owns up to them. She admits when she's wrong, even if it takes a while. And the one thing above all, even though Rory was unplanned, she never stopped loving her.
And she's down with the Bangles. C'mon. |
